ALK (ALKB:DC / OMX: ALK B / AKABY / AKBLF) today announced the appointment of Christian G. Houghton as its new Head of Product Supply, which includes all global manufacturing activities. Christian has been with ALK for 25 years and was previously Head of Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) & selected manufacturing sites.

Christian assumes responsibility for Product Supply from Søren Niegel, who took on the dual role of Head of Commercial Operations and Product Supply in November 2017.
Carsten Hellmann continued: "In 2017, we faced significant challenges in our manufacturing operations. Under Søren’s leadership, the situation has been stabilised and improved while a new product and site strategy (PASS) was established in alignment with ALK’s future commercial ambitions. With the fundamental issues in Product Supply now addressed and with PASS in place, the time is right for Søren to focus his attention on executing ALK’s commercial growth strategy as EVP for global Commercial Operations and as member of ALK's executive board."
Christian G. Houghton takes up his new role with immediate effect and reports directly to ALK’s President & CEO Carsten Hellmann.
